      <title>Mille Miglia 2010</title>
<description>Following its total restoration by DK Engineering, the Ferrari 166MM chassis 0314 successfully took part in the Mille Miglia retrospective event in Italy this year (2010).
The car was admired by all and ran faultlessly throughout finishing a highly commendable 148th out of roughly 375 competitors.

      <title>FOC Open day 2010</title>
<description>On the 6th of March 2010 DK engineering had an excellent turn out for their annual start of the year open day, “The first opportunity for owners to exercise the legs of their prancing horse in 2010”.
We were blessed with beautiful weather and an excellent turn out that was estimated to be approximately 300 people and at the busiest point 120 Ferraris!
As per normal mechanics were on hand to inspect cars, talk through and advise owners on any issues they may have and of course discuss any interesting projects we may have in the workshop. This included the beautiful 166 MM that is nearing completion of a total restoration ready for the Mille Miglia in May.
An addition to last year was the Rolling Road that has recently been housed in its new purpose built building, highlight of the day were Tim Scott’s incredibly loud yet beautiful sounding 308 GTB and a 360 Modena with sports Cats and a straight through exhaust. As per normal sales cars were on display in the courtyard and showroom accompanied by food and coffee galore.
DK were particularly pleased to see such a great variety of cars from Daytonas and 275’s to brand new 599 GTB’s.

If you weren’t lucky enough to make this year book the same weekend for next year and come along.

      <title>Oulton Park Gold Cup 2009</title>
<description>James Cottingham attended this year’s Gold Cup meeting to compete in the Guards Trophy with DK's Chevron B8. James qualified the car 2nd on the grid alongside the local man Guy Minshaw.

At the start of the race an excellent first lap by Al Flemming (his first time out in his newly acquired B8) put him in the lead until running wide at Druids and glancing the gravel set him back a few places. James settled into a comfortable 2nd place following Guy Minshaw and exchanging places with James Schryver a couple of times. Following a failure on the Minshaw car James was upgraded to first position where he remained pulling out a comfortable lead until a torrential downpour came at which point he pitted for his compulsory stop at roughly the half way point. James was in a comfortable position when he rejoined and was set up to retake the lead once all other cars had stopped. However, a few cars being stopped in dangerous positions caused the release of the safety car. A few cars had not pitted by this point meaning they were able to do so during the period thus unfortunately meaning James was "leap frogged"!

Once the safety car was withdrawn James drove very well in the terrible conditions lapping consistently faster than any other car in the appalling conditions. Unfortunately James was unable to pull back the advantage gained by some during the safety car and managed to finish a pleasing 3rd place overall.

      <title>FOC concours 09 (1)</title>
<description>DK, as ever, were happy to attend the annual Ferrari owners club Concours at Boughton House. We attended the event with a variety of cars. Chris Evans attended with his 250 SWB and his 288 GTO (both restored by DK this year). We also attended with our California Spyder (0829 GT), another 250 SWB and Sir Anthony Bamfords 250 PF Coupe as modified by DK. It was great to see some other cars attend the event including the 250 LM of Carlos Monteverde and the 250 SWB of Clive Beecham, both previously restored by DK.

The 288 GTO of Chris Evans and DK’s California Spyder both received 2nd place prizes, a true testament to their condition considering both cars were driven up that morning (in the rain!) and had little attention paid to them prior to judging.

<description>On the 19th of June 2009 DK Engineering hosted a BBQ at our new premises. A hog roast took centre stage in the courtyard surrounded by cars, Ferrari owner’s club members, friends and customers of DK. In the showroom we had jazz piano accompanied by guitar and of course a selection of our finest current stock. All our staff were on hand to deal with any service or sales enquiries and of course to show guest round. Fortunately the weather was perfect and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all - the first of many DK BBQ’s to come….</description>

<description>Cottingham brothers take the chequered flag in the Autosport 3 hour race by a comfort of 3 laps
With the Chevron placed well in second place on the grid James set off at a blistering pace and was out in front by the end of the first lap. Holding off various challenges from cars behind James to began to create a gap at the front and pulled away from second place. At the 45 minute mark the green chevron pulled in for its first pit stop and after a quick driver change and re-fuel Jeremy was behind the wheel and hunting down the cars in front. It wasn’t long before he was out in front and once again the car was pulling away and creating a comfortable gap.

One hour and a half later Jeremy pulled in and passed the car back over to his younger brother James to bring the car home and claim the much deserved victory.

      <title>FOC open day</title>
<description>DK Engineering held an open day to introduce their new premises to members of the surrounding areas Ferrari owners clubs on the 7th of March 2009.

Luckily we were blessed with perfect weather meaning we were flooded with guests all eager to see our new site that so many people have heard so many good things about already. In total approximately 160 visitors came on the day and a tally of 82 Ferraris were brought along by the end of the day. Technicians in the workshop carried out 38 inspections on visitors cars through the day indicating what potential areas may need addressing after a winter storage period.
